Welcoming Words

dear readers
in particular, i am going to write about the early literary and journalistic activities of the tamils in singapore and malaya. as a coincidence i may also touch some salient points about the history, culture, politics and economics of the tamils.
there are many things that other communities should know about the tamils from tamil sources, and there are many more things that the tamils should know from other sources, especially from english.
so this is an attempt to fulfill such a long-felt need. to attain the goal i intend to blog both in tamil and english.

ஆரம்ப கால சிங்கப்பூர் மலேசியத் தமிழ் இலக்கிய, பத்திரிகை வரலாறு பற்றி நான் சேகரித்த சில தகவல்களை உங்களுடன் பரிமாறிக்கொள்வதே இந்தப் பதிவின் முதல் நோக்கம். தமிழர்களைப் பற்றித் தமிழர்களே இன்னும் அறியாத பல செய்திகள் கிடக்கின்றன. இந்த விஷயங்களை மற்றவர்களும் அறிந்துகொள்வது மிகமிக அவசியம். ஆகவே தமிழர்களுக்குத் தமிழிலும் ஆங்கிலம் அறிந்த தமிழர்களுக்கும் மற்றவர்களுக்கும் ஆங்கிலத்திலும் எழுதுவது நல்லது என்று கருதுகிறேன். இருமொழிப் பதிவு பயன்மிக்கதாக இருக்கும் என்பது என் நம்பிக்கை. வாருங்கள். படித்துவிட்டுச் சொல்லுங்கள். கொஞ்சமாகத்தான் எழுத முடியும் என்பதை முன்கூட்டியே சொல்லிவிடுகிறேன்.
